Rachael Dawson-Baglien has been working at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County since 2019 as the Project Manager for their newest initiative, Ahead of the Curve. Ahead of the Curve aims to help Washtenaw County become an aging-friendly community by connecting older adults and caregivers with resources before a crisis happens. Part of this initiative is also raising awareness of the signs of elder abuse and educating community members in ways to reach out to vulnerable older adults. Visit getaheadwashtenaw.org to browse over 500 county-wide resources, take a resource quiz to find resources you can use, read the blog to keep up to date on aging, or complete the caregiver training. During this time where face to face interactions are limited and older adults are more isolated than ever, we encourage everyone to take our caregiver training to learn what warning signs to look out for when interacting with loved ones, clients, and neighbors.
